Speakerphone "Hold" Issue with Blackjack

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Maybe it's just my phone, BUT whenever I try to turn on my speakerphone during a call (pressing down the green phone button), it HOLDS the call instead. I then press down on the green phone button again to release the HOLD, and THEN I press it again to turn the speakerphone on.

So, it DOES work but why does it hold the call originally!? Is anybody else getting this or is it just my phone?

Yeah-- same here. What is up with that? I noticed if the person you're talking to is on a cell phone, it will do the HOLD thing. But if they are on a landline, it will do speakerphone. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but that's what it's done to me so far.

I Dont have this issue...

But, i have noticed that if u press and hold the green button for about a second, it will go over to speakerphone. If you just tap the green button, it will go to hold. Try holding it down longer rather than just tapping it.

I have been having this issue as well, but for me it seems completely random whether it chooses to hold or to go on speakerphone. Sometimes I want to put the person on speaker and they go on hold and sometimes vice versa. Almost everyone I talk to is on a cell so I don't think it is landline vs cell issue I think that it is a button issue with the button not responding correctly to a hold vs push thing...

Just hit menu-->turn on speakerphone and you wont have the problem..

Same here. doesn't happen all the time, its pretty random.

Happens 100% of the time for me and I do hold it down for more than a second. What a pain in the rear. Anyone know how to change this. It's not convenient to go menu--> speakerphone.

Works fine for me...tap it = hold. Hold it = speakerphone...*shrugs*

Yeah-- I tried the holding-down-the-call-key-method and it works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. PAIN!

Same here...almost never works on the first try, very aggravating.

Guys, I had this issue too. The reason it's going to "hold" instead of "speakerphone" is due to the state the screen is in.

If the screen is off (Blacked out, usually due to idle activity), it will put the caller on hold.
If the screen is on (Active, unlocked), it will put the caller on speakerphone.

It's a little annoying, but I've trained myself to always hit "down" to activate the screen THEN hold the send button to activate the speakerphone.

Thanks. I'll try that.

I've gotten in the habit of rolling the side wheel slightly whenever the screen has gone inactive and I want it to refresh.

I know that there is a speakerphone profile, but is there anyway to have it default speaker, so that when you place a call or answer it is auto on speakerphone?

Isnt it easier to hit menu and speaker on?

Thank you! This is exactly the reason. I've tested it a few times and as long as the screen is active, the "hold send" for speakerphone works fine
