You don't know Motorola. Often times when they release a triband phone, they use QuadBand hardware and lock out the extra band via Firmware. Seem edits can bring back that hidden band.

Then marketing can't advertise the product as quad-band. Even worse, if it can be seem edited back in, the software that supports the missing frequency band has been paid for as well.
