3125 + Vista Business + Toshiba BT stack

Anybody had any success (w/ any WM5 device) with the Windows Mobile Device Center over bluetooth using the Toshiba 5.x BT stack. I have beaten my head against the wall and still no luck and haven't found much on the internet accept 1 article over at unwired where they couldn't get it to work either.

Anyway...I can sync over USB just fine, but none of the typical methods of connecting over bluetooth, initiating from the phone, that worked under ActiveSync seem to work under WMDC/Vista.

Funny that we've gone a few steps backward w/ Vista. ActiveSync had finally gotten the whole BT issue resolved and made setting it up over BT pretty easy...now this...ugh...

Any ideas ?

Toshiba BT stack is not compatible with Vista. You either have to wait for Toshiba release a Vista compatible version of use Vista built-in BT stack.

And good luck with that. The built-in version of the BT stack with Vista in conjuntion with my Broadcom BT device didn't give ActiveSync as an option. When HP finally released Vista drivers it worked fine though.

It says Vista.

I have a Billionton PCMCIA 2.0+EDR card that I use. It originally came w/ BT drivers that worked great on XP. I just decided to see if there was something newer out there. I believe my card came w/ 3.x drivers and these showed 5.x and also stated Vista in the description.

Maybe I'll try the ones that came w/ my card and see what happens.

My dell laptop BT originally comes with Toshiba BT stack. After upgrade to Vista, Dell offer a different driver and profile offering (something called CSP). After installed it, BT function became very unstable. I have to remove it and went back to Vista driver and stack. ActiveSync works better in Vista, IMO, over BT than XP.

Thanks, I'll try removing the Toshiba and see what happens under Vista w/ it's default stack. It lacks A2DP, so I'll loose that for now, but at least I can sync my phone w/o plugging in, which is more critical.
