Treo 750 problems should i return?

Since I didn't get a answer out of the other topic and it got locked by a mod due to a few users here posting useless posts, I need to get some help on this.

Seems after two-three weeks now after having my Treo 750 with Cingular its starting to lock up. I had to do a reset on it. The keypad didn't respond, and it didn't have a connection with the towers. I only have the marsware weather installed. It is setup to check with exchange as well. Any ideas?

I also had to reset it each day (soft reset now since I did the hard reset because it won't respond to the unlock button on the keypad.

I need to know if I should hold out for a update or should I just go back and get a new replacement blackjack or 8525. I am within my 30 days of being with Cingular. Thanks.

Well I have had no issues with my 750, and I have alot of apps loaded onto it and on the miniSD. I would take it back and get another one.

I'm going to return mine. It's not working properly. When i'm on the UMTS network and I get a call, the phone will disconnect from the network, and take about a minute or so to reconnect.

I'm not sure if I'm going to exchange it for another 750, or get an 8525.

I am done with the Treo 750. Too many bugs, too many problems for a phone. The thing disconnected me from 3 calls today and I have only made 3 calls! I wasn't even moving just sitting at my desk with full bars. My boss next office over has the 8525 with no problems except a BT issue that got resolved with a different headset!

I might have to go down to it or the blackjack.

I just picked up a Blackjack and Im very happy with it.It gets great signal, when it moves from Edge to 3G is does so quickly without delay. Its also loud so I can hear everyone very clearly. You might find it has a little less functionality then the 8525 since the Blackjack is running smartphone edition. But I love mine. The 8525 is just too big to lug around.

All I need is a good signal, audio, great form factory, and email with exchange. I never use the other stuff that Treos need like office documents, etc.

Well thats what I look for also, which is why I went with the Blackjack over the 750. Plus there seems to be ALOT of issues with the 750. The review over on Phonescoop really scared me away with all the dropped calls they had. The Blackjack is small enough you can actually put it in your pocket and be comfortable with it. I dont use Exchange but from what I understand the Blackjack will work with it. Great price too if your a new customer or your up for a new contract.

Even phonescoop said more than once that they couldn't find anyone else with call drop problems. I've never had a call drop with my 750, and it has excellent call sound quality and signal stregth.

So far I have talked to 4 Treo owners today, all of them say they get call drops. Either 680-750 owners.

They are also fed up. I am in my 30 day period of going to Cingular, so I am going to return it for a Blackjack. My only worry is I mailed in the Rebate form a week after I got it thinking it was working fine. So they better take it back or I will just drop them and go to someone else.

How is the battery life on your blackjack. I know it comes with two batterys, but give me a idea how it does.

Battery life has been fine. Ive found with normal talk times and a few texts and some browsing Im fine with the regular battery. It does need to be charged nightly but thats normal as far as Im concerned. Mine came with an extended battery and a new cover to use with it but I dont use it. I like skinny .

My 750 for some reason only drops calls when I call my wifes office. Other then that it works fine.

Well I am glad my 750 has had no issues and no call drops. I live in a Big City and my 750 is always in UTMS and excellent call sound and quality.

ALOT BETTER than the 680 I had, But I do agree with you the BJ is a great PHONE.

I LOVE my 750

After about 1 month of owning my Treo 750, I have no issue with battery life. It lasts from when I take it off the charger to when I put it back on nightly and it always has plenty of battery left (no less than 30%) unless I've played videos for about 2 hours non-stop (which sucks the battery on any device.) So I do charge it nightly overnight every night. I have had to do this with every PDA I've owned (Treo 600, 650, Cingular 8125, 8525, Treo 750.) Except blackberry... which lasts about 3 days. But the BB has a pewny processor so it doesn't suck much juice.

When I first got the Treo 750, I think the battery lasted a total of about 4 hours (yikes.) So it definately improves over more and more charge cycles. The Treo 650 was the same way.

I lied. I forgot I had 1 dropped call. I'm not sure it has anything to do with the 750. Cingular just drops calls once in a while.
But in all of the many many long and short phone calls, stationary and driving on both mine and my wife's Treos, we have had no dropped calls (except the one I mentioned.) And sometimes she calls me from work and we talk until she's home 40 min later.

Appearently your milage may avary with the Treo 750. I certainly hope for the repuation of Palm that they're able to fix these issues with the upcoming software update. I love my Treo 750.

I do not use activesync push mail (I use XPress mail push.) I do not use bluetooth. And I do not use voice command (which appearenlty is the cause of some issues.)

I know what you mean...it seems the louder her voice gets the more it seems to disconnect!
