8125 Change Default Area Code

Hey guys, this must be my third or fourth time asking this question, but i just can't seem to find the answer via search. I wish I could search the entire 8125 tips/tricks/hacks/dl's thread.
Anyway, how do I change the default area code I have on the phone? I just received a brand new device from cingular with exchange by mail because my 8125's touch screen went dead/non responsive to touch. Luckily it looks like I got a brand new device rather than a refurbished piece of crap. TIA

What benefit does doing that provide?

Open your contacts. Click on Menu / Options. In the Area code: field put in your default area code. Now when you type in a new number for a contact, it will put in that default area code.
