8525 going to japan....

I will be going to japan for a week at the end of the month.
What would be the best way for me to use my 8525 while over there for a few calls back home?

If you want to use a prepaid sim card from a provider over there, which would be your best bet, then you will need to get your 8525 unlocked. Call cingular and indicate that you will be traveling overseas and what to uses prepaid sim from a provider over there, so you will need your phone unlocked. They can and should do that. Keep going up the food chain until you get the help that you need.
