6925 & International data roaming

I will be heading outside the US next month with my 6925. As there is no unlimited international data roaming (unlike the Blackberry plan) I need to minimize my EDGE traffic and take advantage of the numerous free WIFI available.

Has anyone done this with any WM5 device (8525?)? Will WIFI take priority over GPRS/EDGE if I am connected to an AP? Anything special I will need to do?

I just go into Activesync on the phone and change the setting to Manual and make sure the roaming option is not selected. That way I only use data when I initoate a sync or send an e-mail.

Thanks, good idea. What a pain though. I don't travel internationally that often but at least with the Blackberry data plan the rate is fixed.
