quick question:

if you have a city FAN that discounts equipment 45% full price, can an RSC discount the equipment at a NO COMMITMENT transaction in the store?

i was under the assumption it applied for no contract, upgrades, migrations, new lines etc..

my manager seems to think otherwise..and is screaming at me.

It depends on the FAN. It will state in the details of the FAN if a 2 year contract is required.

There was some confusion here as well. My manager called BMG. They said 2-yr contract only. Otherwise people would come in all the time and expect to get a phone at a ridiculous discount without a contract. What motivation would they have in signing a contract?

In our store the policy has always been that the customer must be eligible for an upgrade to get the equipment discount

what is the point of the equipment discount if the upgrade $150 winds up being the same thing?

we only do it in my store if they are signing a 2 year contract...the point is that the equipment discount is not that great unless they are buying a very expensive phone...take a treo 750 for example...the 45% off the retail price is cheaper than the normal 2 year price. We offer whichever is lower.

Unless otherwise stated in the fan account instructions, pda's are not supposed to be discounted either.

Fans are not supposed to used to give employees great deals on phones, they are there as a benifit for the corporate entity with regards to how much money their account generates and as an incentive to get their employees to sign up (which in turn helps the company out) they give their employees a small discount).
