i am switching to cingular and up untill now have been planning on getting the sync. however the blackjack is now getting my attention. i have seen the sync compared to several other phones and it seems to fair pretty well. but i have yet to see it compared to the blackjack, or any info on the blackjack for that matter.
maybe this is because they are in two different leagues(maybe not) but if anyone has any feedback on the blackjack compared to the sync i would appreciate their opinion.....
thanks

I personally dislike WM5, and Windows in general (I'm a Linux geek, so accept that I have some bias in the matter). Having said that, I tried a Sync for a little bit, but wound up switching to the RAZR V3xx because of superior technology (i.e. an nVidia GPU and the inclusion of Opera 8.0 as the built-in browswer).

I went with the black jack and have loved every minute of it, never had the sync though so i guess it is a bit one sided

In case Opera is a selling point, Opera Mini installs and seems to work great on the SYNC.

Yeah opera mini works fine on the Sync. I think its really hard to compare the two because they are two totally different types of phones.

I wasn't referring to Opera Mini (which I do have on my V3xx for accessing my bank's web site or running CC numbers over my company's secure payment site), but rather to a variant of Opera Mobile. I was very dissapointed by the implimentation of NetFront on the Syc (I've used NetFront on other devices, and while I realise that a cell phone needs a slightly "dumbed down" version, I think NetFront was horribly crippled), and found the implimentation of Opera Mobile 8.0 on the V3xx to be superior. Having said that, PIE isn't that bad with a good plugin (such as SBP's Today Plus, which I used on my old MDA).
Now, if someone could get NetBSD working on the Blackjack, with PicoGUI and working 3G integration, that would be something! If it were possible to get BT support on an old Jornada or MobilePro running NetBSD, it would make for a great, mobile Linux platform tethered to a quick 3G "modem."
Honestly, outside of business, where seamless integration with a Windows domain is necessary (barring implimentation of BES), I'm simply neither a fan nor a supporter of WM5. PalmOS has been a better system, but Treo's virtually scrapped that, and we still don't have a 3G Blackberry to use
