Hi Everyone!

I am getting a GD87 off ebay ASAP!

Can you please tell me any bad points/things i should look out for.

My brother has one but i just want some more opinions.

Thank you!

pros.

great screen
great call quality
great reception
nice camera
sturdy
good browser
picture caller ID (save to phone, not to SIM)

cons.

No BT
no java
small pictures
not great battery life
not as good phonebook

The rest is up to you... whatever ticks you off the most. I like it, it's a great phone.

I agree 100% with the above post, and would like to add the following:

Pros:
Loud ringtones
Large internal memory

Cons:
No active flip
No way to silence incoming call while phone is closed.

Cool, I also just got mine also. I like it a lot, but I'm not ready to give up my t68i... w/o bluetooth.

right on

i kept my t68i when i got my gd87 too, but i'm probably get rid of both of them when i get something new

I will most likely keep both and hold out until the x70 is here. I will have the best of both worlds then.

I've underestimated having a nice screen. The t68i seems so small and inadequate now.

You know, I could give you pages and pages of things that really bugs me about this phone.

You should go and compare the Samsung V205 before you buy. (I wish I did!). You can download the manuals for these two phones and compare them properly.

The best thing I can say about the GD8x/GU87 is that it was for my wife and not for me! My intention was that I can send/received MMC messages to/from her via my SE-P800.

The GD88 is a fairly attractive phone but that’s all it has going for it. (That’s how I got suckered into buying it- plus the digital zoom!) Get pass the looks, this is a phone, not a girl!!!

Be smart, Compare the GD8x with its peers and not with any other OLDER phones you have seen (eg. your present phone).

A phonebook with pictures is fun but it can also be dangerous! If you care about your contacts you will probably not be using that feature (see my comments in other threads).

Depend on where you live you might be able to get the SE-P800 for about $200 more. Believe me, (for the exception of the color depth of the displays) the GD88 is a joke compare to the SE-P800.

Even if you don't like it, it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Some people make it seem like its the worst phone out there. I can tell you now that there are plenty of bad phones other than the gd87.

Just use what YOU like and stop dissing the rest of the world for not liking the same thing as you do. The whole reason there are so many phones is because everyone has different tastes. I've heard bad things about EVERY single phone. There is not one phone out there that someone doesn't complain about.

I have never complained about my old T68

Posted by: Moto Man

All i know is it is a whole lot better than the Moto T720!!!

i love my gd87, nuff said

Its very interesting to see both the negative and positive comments about this handset, strangely I can't get that worked up about such matters.

By the way ITS A PHONE and as such it works fine. As said earlier in this thread its 'each to his/her own'. If everybody liked the same thing, well what a boring world.

For example the SE P800 is a fine piece of kit but for me far too big, if I'm going out for the evening I'd much prefer something to slip into my pocket.

The reviews are so consistant. It just makes you wonder if it is really worth the money and for me, it's not.
I have to admit that the screen is the best I have seen yet that doesn't sell me on the phone. I just dislike too many things on it.

Read my review a few threads back.

If you like it, you should keep it, don't listen to me or anyone else. We are here just to give info that would help.
Good luck.
