Hi there. Ok - I have no idea what happened - but I can't connect my HP 6925 locally to my PC via ActiveSync any more. It was working fine for a week - then I must have done something to the device....because when I connect the 6925 to the USB cable...I hear the "da dink" on my PC....telling me that the PC sees the device connected. And when I take it out - and hear the reverse "da-dink" - telling me that it knows that it is disconnected. However - when I connect the 6925 to the PC and here the "connected da-dink" - the 6925 no longer has that pop-message that says "Connecting to Host".....which is what it normally does when it connects to the PC. Again, I hear the PC tell me that is sees the device connected - but the device does not realize it.
I even switched from USB Serial to 'RNDIS' mode - and when I do that, the PC sees the device...I get a "Windows Mobile Network Connection" for the device on the Tray of my PC...and ActiveSync starts to light-up and says "Connecting" - but then after about 2 minutes I get an error from ActiveSync on the PC saying that it "can not find the device" - and it stops trying. I hear the "da-dink" and everything - but the 6925 still never says "Connecting to Host" - and the Edge connection does NOT disconnect like it normally does when you connect to the USB.
Additional points:
1) This was working for a week-plus...no issue. I must have installed something (I played with SKTools the other day but didn't think I made any real changes). I since de-installed SKTools - and can't reinstall it to see if I can fix something - because it doesn't come with a CAB...just an EXE that needs ActiveSync to install.
2) I de-installed ActiveSync on the PC, rebooted, and re-installed - still nothing. I even installed the ActiveSync 4.5 Beta (which supposedly fixes numerous USB Connection issues) - and still nothing.
3) I suppose if I "hard wipe" my device and start from Scratch....it will fix the issue...BUT - I have hours of time already inversted into loading and configuring programs, settings, tweaks, etc.....and I REALLY don't want to do this.
If anyone can help - I would be grateful!! This is driving me nuts...!!
