Transferring address book from Moto to Pearl

Is there an easy way to send my address book from my Moto V635 to my new Pearl? I have Motorola Phone Tools. I know I should be able to put them all to store on the SIM but it would take a week to do that.

Thanks

Sync your phone to Outlook then sync your BlackBerry to Outlook.

On the motorola there should be an option to copy all to sim. It was "do-able" on my v551 by going to the address book, menu, copy, all to sim. Then had my pearl copy all from the sim address book.

I agree with sync with Outlook. This is a wise choice just to keep all your contacts, notes and clander events backed up.

That sounds like a plan, I've been putting birthdays and anniversaries in my calender and I'd hate to lose those.

Thanks

I agree with the syncing with outlook being the better method, was just pointing out an alternative using the sim.

All of the instructions that I found for exporting an address book to my Blackberry required BIS. I'm not using this with a Blackberry plan. Is there a workaround?

You don't need a BlackBerry data plan and/or BIS access to sync your BlackBerry to Outlook for your contacts, tasks, memos and calendar.

I must be missing something then. Can somebody point me to some detailed directions?

I would appreciate it if you could explain in detail how this could be done. My Sony Ericsson Z800i has about 500 contacts, tasks, notes, etc. Copying from SIM would only get the contact info.

How do I sync my SE Z800i to Outlook? Thanks.

I'm not sure if the Sony Ericsson Z800i comes w/ a software disc or not but w/ my Sony Ericsson W810i I used the software disc it came with that allowed me to sync my fone to outlook as well as tranfer media to the fone via USB. When I was using a few various Motorola fones as secondary devices I used the Motorola Phone Tools software to sync my fone to Outlook.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

In one of the posts, I think it was you who said that you tried out the Treos for a few days, but had horrible experience and decided never to go back to Treos. What were those reasons, if that was you?

I am thinking about going to Cingular to try out either the 680 or 750 for a few days.

I never liked the Treo 600 when I tried it out but gave Treo another shot when the 650 was originally released. My experience with it was not pleasant at all. The device was very unstable and was always dealing w/ constant random reboots or the device would always freeze up. ROM updates never worked either so I swore off Treos after that.

I did try the 750v for a short period of time though as it ran Windows Mobile 5 and not the Palm OS. I loved the Palm tweeks on the 750v and being on an exchange server was great for Email but as usual the Treo wasn't for me. My experience w/ the 750v wasn't bad but personally I prefer the BlackBerry.

Yeah, it did come with a disc. I installed it. Btw, I'm using Yahoo DSL. I don't use MS Outlook on my home PC, only at work. I just clicked on the MS Outlook on my home PC, and it was extracting all my yahoo emails to outlook. I stopped it. When I checked my yahoo email, it looks like MS outlook started stealing my yahoo emails. At first, I thought it was copying from my Yahoo, but the Outlook was taking away mails from my Yahoo.

What's happening?

jjb, config your outlook accounts to leave a copy of messages on the server. I believe it should then showup in your yahoo and outlook.
