Why no v3x pumpkin for US?

I cant believe this phone isnt available for the US! It astounds me. Moto intentionally made it a tri-band only (anti-US) phone with a europe UMTS band.

What the HELL motorola?! Youre an american company and youre making one of the best looking phones only for the European market??

Its sort of a slap in the face in my opinion, as if this phone is too cool for america.

Why moto, why must you be such bastards sometimes?

Well, it IS a nice phone. But the V3xx that Cingular currently sells is a better phone, even if it is in the "older" RAZR format. But it has UMTS and HSDPA (dual bands for the states.)
I am sure that eventually the V6 Maxx will also be sold here in the states at some point too.

That being said, yes, Motorola IS an American company... but when was the last time a Moto was manufactured here? LOL

but my real question is, why would they NOT put the 850 band in the phone?! They intentionally designed the phone not to work here, and I wonder what the psychological reasoning is behind that?

and the v3xx doesnt do it for me. Im tired of motorola just pumping out the same old razr phone design with different software and features. i want something new... something like the v3x

Just wait for the Quad Band V6 Maxx. The V3x is much lower end than the Maxx or the V3xx.

I'm sure that there will be some aftermarket housings for it, in all different shades and colors

I myself was waiting for the Nokia N75. But settled for the V3xx. So far I have no problems with it and im loving the improvements over the V3.

+1

The V3xx fits into my pocket as well as my old V3, it's wide enough to hold in my hand without feeling like I need to be a midget --- but that's about all that it has in common with the original.

That's excactly why Moto didn't put the 850 band in the Pumpkin: it's meant for the Europe/Asia market (that uses the 2100Mhz 3G band). Because the 850 band is not used in Europe/Asia (where the phone is designed for), it doesn't make sense to include a band that customers will never use.
