My razr v3c's keypad doesn't work! I'm a noob, so I've never used this before, but whenever I press the 1, * or # key, they only work about 5% of the time. I don't have insurance on my alltel plan, so is there a way to fix this without sending it to alltel or motorola? Any suggestions would be really great, so thanx in advance.

What happpened to the phone prior to the issue? Has the phone gotten wet?

Posted by: razr91

well, the phone fell in the snow once, but i dried it off the battery cover, which was the only wet part, and it worked fine for 2-3 months, but then, I picked it up, went to dial, and those three buttons still work. I know this doesn't always mean anything, but the sticker is white. Everything else works as good as new.

stil dont work. Sorry

OUr rule of thumb:

Once a RAZR is wet, its days are numbered. It sounds like replacement time.

Yeah, that's what i was thinking, but do you think that mabye theres a way of fixing it? It looks like the keypad mabye moved a little bit. Mabye the contacts are just dirty? Anyway, thanks for all the help.

The key assembly is a sealed unit. The whole piece can be replaced, but with wet RAZRs that usually ends up being only one of the problems.

It is still, however, fixable but the cost would be like 1/3 the cost of a new phone on contract so better off getting a new phone. lol I got my 1st of 2 razrs wet in the snow, it was in there too long but the buttons didn't mess up. Just the screen died. but that was easily replaced then I sold it on ebay.

Do you know how much the kepad assembly is? And mabye where i could order one?
Again - Thanks

What you are actually asking is for a keypad flex cable. You can get parts here: http://cnn.cn/shop/motorola-razr-c-22_78.html Keep in mind though, inorder for you to replace this part, you will need to take your phone almost completely apart.

well, now there are only three keys that don't work. They will work half the time, but half the time they don't. I wonder if it has anything to do with temperature? lately we've had sub zero temperatures, and i have been outside with it. Would that do anyting?
