I just purchased an unlocked Sidekick 3 and was wondering if anyone had the Cingular internet settings and aim settings so that I can use all features on the phone with Cingular. Thanks

Sorry to be the one to break the news to you but it
Wont work on cingular..The only thing you will be able to use is the voice service!!

nope u just wasted money a phone with no data. SK3 uses Danger server for data. pretty much all you have is a phone with a keyboard. you can only call and text and thats it.

Nope. Cingular does not have any danger servers.

nothing that cingular offers is anything near the sidekick

get a blackberry.

Posted by: bgmk82j

Wow that is nice sidekick with no data that is too bad but you always can do it through T-Mobile to have sidekick data plan for your handset..cuz it will work on any GSM/GPRS/EDGE providers anyway at no extra charges IF already has agreements in that certain provider and areas..

Posted by: reas0n555

do yourself the favor and make good use of it, get the 29.99 a month data plan im sure you spend more money on chewing gum in a month than that.

Posted by: kgelster

You could sell it on eBay. You'll get $200+
PM me, I'll buy it.

Posted by: thatg

so in order for the data plan to work you need to have a tmobile sim in the phone??? even if you bought the data plan from tmobile

Yes, of course.

Posted by: thatg

sucks, can anyone recommend a phone with cingular where i wont have to pay 40 a month for internet. ive got the k790 right now, its too tiney and call volume is horrible i jam the phone inside of my head to hear people sometimes

Posted by: AdmiralAK

Does t-mobile not work in your area?

Posted by: thatg

it does, unfortunately i just signed a contract with cingular because my friend mentioned they have great service and i had planned to get the iphone but it looks like theyre gonna charge an arm and a leg to use all its features. trying to figure out a way to make a sidekick work for me or something along those lines with cingular

Posted by: AdmiralAK

If you are within 30 days - you can still cancel without penalty so far as I know

Posted by: thatg

ye, im past 30, i had the blackjack for a while, wasnt too fond of that either

Posted by: reas0n555

you can just use cingular for voice and the sidekick for data... thats what im doing.. the data plan is 30 bucks a month ... still 10 bucks cheaper than cingular...

Posted by: thatg

not fun carying 2phones around all the time

Posted by: thatg

8525, awsome phone

Posted by: olouie99

Why would you change to cingulare to get the iphone before it comes out? You won't get the best deal if you are an existing customer.

Posted by: thatg

you can always just renew your contract

Exactly. And if you don't want to sign up for a monthly plan, just activate it on pre-pay. I believe it's $50 for the activation kit at a TMO retail store, but it comes with $30 of air time. It's $1/day for unlimited data and $0.15 a minute for voice.

Posted by: lala101

I look @ it its pointless for it to be unlocked since u cant use all the features but who knows other wise its gonna be a paperweight

Posted by: Outrigger

if you don't want to carry 2 devices and don't want to sign on a sidekick plan with tmo, then what you have there is a very expense electronic address book, either sell it or compromise. these are your only two options.

Posted by: speedy0156

couldn't you stay with cingular for voice and just sign up the sidekick data with t-mo? it'd end up being the same price as having a t-mo contract and sidekick data since its always $30 anyway ... right?

Posted by: deviantmotoSE

It's basically the same thing. The downside is that you just have to carry 2 phones, which isn't that bad if you have one phone on a belt case/holster and the other one in your pocket).

I agree even To Go customer will able to roam on Cingular (New AT&T) networks so I dont see why not and its only 1.00 per day for all unlimited use right? To Go customer can roam on only these networks which are Alltel, Edge Wireless, New AT&T and of course T-Mobile and all other native networks wont work...
