I've got 9300 with a reaaaaaaly old firmware version and it's getting dumber everyday

I talked to iunlock guys, but the problem is that they said they can't guarantee that Russian language will stay with the new firmware, which is something that I use daily

so I was thinking.... I have the craddle, I have the phone - I could find a russian version of the new firmware from my mates back home, so technically I should be able to flash it myself, right?

Any experience with this?

The only way I have ever flashed is using the nokia upgrader downloaded from their site. I have a 9300-b that I had flashed by iunlock as this was not offered as an upgrade option on nsu. They did a good job , but I am having problems re-loading bbc and also syncing with my pc. I believe you will lose whatever is on the device that is not factory specific. If you have something on there that you don`t want to lose then I would be very careful in doing it. That said the upgrade makes for an awesomely better browsing experience. Any chance you could transfer your stuff to a pc or mem card pre flash for installing later??
