ppc6700 - incoming texts have wrong time?

hello advanced ppc6700 user and thanks for reading:

my incoming text messages have the wrong time attached to them.. they are exactly 5 hours ahead, actually.

the rest of the device functions properly. time and date are correct on the today page..

any ideas? perhaps a change to be made in the registry? or the EPST?

I have the same problem except mine are only an hour off... I believe its something to do with the carrier being in a different time zone and the text messages are datestamped with a time from the carrier not your phone... Not positive on this one but it makes the most sense.

If your missing ur EXT ROM this problem will occur.

Not missing it so I don't think thats whats causing it.
