Camera and the 8525 storage issues

Ok the other day i was taking pictures with my phone. I had a bunch stored in the Storage card/my documents/pictures. I created that folder. the other day i turned on the camera and i got the default location message saying that a new card had been inserted and do I want to make it my default location. I selected no. I went into the folder and it was cleaned out. All the files were gone. And now when I goto take a picture it doesn't save in that location or any where. i can't find it. Can someone please help me? I have the storage card selected but i can't find how to point it to store in the folder i want. Anyone else have this issue? Any help would be great.
