My sister purchashed a Blackberry Pearl and she wanted me to ask how to set up her internet. Now i dont have the phone( or i would probaly set it up). Is there a website u could direct me to on how to set it up. she uses cingular by the way

oh it can't be a normal media net plan? it has to be a blackberry data plan?

yup, cheapest she can have is the 29.99 blackberry internet service plan - unlimited email/internet on the device.

i'm guessing that on the phone it says "data connection refused"?

yup, call cingular, have them add the BIS plan.
once they add the plan onto the account, pull the battery, count to 10
Go to settings > options > advanced options > host routing table > push the menu key > select register now
Go back to the main screen, there should be 2 or 3 globes that say internet or browser underneath them

to set up email.
go to www.cingular.com/blackberrystart
scroll to the bottom of the page, select the link that says "create or login to your blackberry internet service account"
select new account
follow the steps.

BAM you're done.

There's really nothing to set up unless the service books don't push automatically (which happens but it's unusual). Once you have the data plan you can browse the web. As soon as the service books are automatically pushed you'll have the browser icon. It's not like other devices.
