Bell is now carrying a tool that takes any phone and is able to transfer your contacts pics vids and evetthing to your new phone. Infact this new device uses a bult in simcard. No more losing all your downloads, or anything at all.
Note: I can't confirm if all stores will carry this device

sounds a little to good to be true, especially with all the software conflicts that can happen from the different formats on each phones OS.

How much are stores charging to use this wonderful machine? Perhaps if this service was offered at no charge and was included with the $35 swap fee, people would see the value in that fee. You know, rather than seeing some dude hack some buttons for 20 seconds and then say, "all done, $35 please." Now if only Bell marketing can work with this and begin their ascent to a Premium Provider.

It's free, either when you get a new phone, or when you send your phone out for repair and want us to tranfer your phonebook to the loaner phone here in Edmonton. Or you jsut want to play around with our machine, as long as i'm not too busy, I'd be more than happy to show anyone how it work if they by the Bell at Northgate Mall.

Please explain how it works. Your talking about a SIM card but no Bell phone posses such a card nor (as far as I know) any kind of port to inser one.

If you're talking about the Future dial software yes it can transfer phone books to almost any phone they support, but it "WILL NOT" transfer photo's and applications.

its supposed to be a 15$ Fee on your bill but I look at it this way.. 15$ on your bill.. buy a car charger or something else with your upgrade and ill do it for you for free

The machine is called a Cellebrite (sp?). It simply reads the info from the phone using either the data port, or Infrared port. It can also read the information from a SIM card, USB memory stick, or SD card. You have the option of sending the information direct to another phone or backup the phone to PC, USB Memory stick, or SD card.

There is a $15 for transferring the information.

For some reason the Cellebrite machine will not write to a V3c, but can read from one without any issues.

Sounds like a nice machine. I hope we get one here in the States soon.

Hmmmm interesting....

I hope to god that we don't get these.... Just more work....

Certain phones can have their picture tranfers from one phone to another using the Cellebrite. I tranfer a Motorola V220 phonebook and pictures to a Samsung a900. LOL, she was super happy to get rid of her Roger's phone. To each, their own I guess.

BELL should adopt R-UIM. All problem solved. No more hasle with changing ESN, transfering data etc. Or join WCDMA with GSM.
