I bought a Sony Ericsson V600i off a bloke in work and when you power on you get a message saying "Enter phone lock code".

I have checked on Sony website and entered the codes they say to try but still no joy.

I think it must be a factory set code as I have tryed about 10 different sets of numbers and phone has not locked up.

I only bought the phone for a fiver so if I cant get it sorted will put it on ebay.

Please help me.....

maybe the previous put a phone lock code, you need to go to him and ask it

I thought if you put in a code into your phone for security and forget it and then try guessing it then your phone will lock after 3 failed attempts. The phone is not locking up even after 20 attempts so this is why I thought it might of been a factory set code.

only applies to sim cards and phones locked by the carrier, seems the previous owner has put a phone lock, it comes up when you put in a different sim card, in this case yours, so you will have to get in contact with the previous owner, i put phone lock codes on my phones, to prevent unauthorized sim switching, sometimes i forget to take off the code when i sell it, thus my buyers contacting me abt it.

and if he flashes it with DaVinci, he would loose all the setting on the phone, including the lock code, no? It would go back to the default configuration. I'm not entirely sure, but it might worth to try it before selling it.
