I have not been able to figure out if on the Pearl you can assign tones for certain actions.. like one tone for incoming texts/messages then a different one for, obviously, the incoming calls.

Changing the ring tone for all calls and assigning them to certain contacts is easy enough.. but I can't figure out how to change the message alert to something I downloaded onto the device memory

Help?

Go into "Profiles" and then select Advanced at the bottom. You can change the ringtones/vibrations for the different events there.

I figured as much but exactly how I still duno.

Go into profiles
"Normal" is probably marked active
Scroll down to Advanced and press the Pearl
You will see all of the predefined Profiles
Press the Pearl and you will see all of the predefined events, like Browser, Calendar, etc.

Messages are for e-mails. Scroll to the one you want to change and click the Pearl.

You will see two entries for each action - "Out of Holster" and "In Holster".

Change the "Tune" (ringtone) there.
