I have to return my 8525 back to Cingular. What is the procedure to ensure that everything is wipe out of the 8525 and set back to defaults?

If you are able to access your phone software properly, just go to Start/Settings/System and do a Clear Storage. This will wipe it clean.

If not, you can try holding down the 2 keys directly beneath the screen and using your Stylus to press the reset button at the bottom of the phone.

Wow... Just imagine the information you can find if you only use the one-line text box of a Google Search page. Holy crap, it actually works.

this may sound trivial but what are the soft keys?

The soft keys are the two little buttons just above the windows botton and the "ok" button.

Soft keys are multifunctions command buttons. They are similar to Nokia's "navi keys".

Will a hard reset restore your phone's original branding including the Office Mobile applications?
