What do you mean by "turned up the volume..."?

there is volume control on my speaker which is plugged into my computer so if i blasted that would it make a difference

So you plug your phone into the PC and the PC into your speakers? How does it sound when you turn up the volume?
I just plug my phone into the speaker system directly - sounds great at full bore, rattles the windows.

I think you're meaning to say .. that you are recording ringtones "over-the-air" .. from your pc .. that is playing the music .. right?

Then yes .. you want the pc to play louder .. but still clear .. with your phone a few feet away from a speaker.

But .. no recording will ever .. EVER .. sound as good as a ringtone that is transferred over to your phone by usb cable, bluetooth or just plain downloaded.

I don't have a 325i .. so I don't know it's non-modded capabilities .. but have you tried the "email outbox trick" to get ringtones to your phone? Does the 325i have a transflash slot?

no the V325i doesnt have much and it doesnt have a transflash slot. oh and yes i just couldnt word it right but i am recording it over the air because thats the only way i can do it
