Motorola Razr V3c

Hello,

I just purchased a Motorola Razr V3c from ebay. I want to add my own ringtone using Bitpim, however, it wont allow me to do so. Now, before I get flamed, I have read the 1,000,000 other threads on this issue, but none have covered my concerns completely yet.

The phone I purchased was created for Verizon Wireless, but it was "flashed" over to use the Cricket Network. I have it activated on the cricket network as we speak. It still looks like a verizon phone, (the menu, etc) but it works with cricket. I go to Menu > Settings & Tools > System Settings > Device Info > Other Information > S/W Version and I get GATW_01.15.04. Now, I know there is an issue with this as far as using bitpim (MPT, bitpim, etc) for uploading ringtones.

My main question is, if I flash to one of the suggested versions (which of course are made for verizon), will that have some affect on my phones ability to connect to the cricket network?

GATW_01.15.04 is a Verizon firmware. Why flash a WORKING Phone just to allow that one thing??

If all you want to do is ADD a ring tone with BitPim... Follow the steps Verizon phone users must do..

Seem edit seem 2742, offset 6A, bit 0... "check the box" so the value of bit0=1 or ON.

Then use BitPim configured manually as a V3CM...

Or do that same 2742 Seem edit, PLUS the "Phone ID String" seem edit... (info on the ID String Edit, plus a pre-edited 2827 seem for the ID String can be found at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/E815-V3C-Popular.htm )
