Having your own line of service

Do any of the agents here have their own line of serivce with another carrier. You have the COU and ERP line but you opt to use your COU line for work and have your own line of service for yourself.

The reason I ask is because I use my COU line as my personal phone and my girlfriend uses my ERP line. I have another ERP line with 500 minutes but that isnt enough for me.

The main thing is that I want a line that I CONTROL. All the employees here know that getting a feature added/sim card replaced etc... is a pain in the neck with the cingular controlled plans. Sometimes I just want something that is in my control...but I feel stupid paying for something that I get for free already?

Any opinions?

Be just like any other customer. Go get a contract, and a rate plan YOU can control.

i have two COU's, my parents have my ERP's, and I have a personal line that i have full control over. i like it that way for some reason. and i cant even explain why.

Just realize that just because you are in control doesn't mean you can access your own account from work.

obviously. still gotta follow COBC. that is why if i need to look up my own account info, i use the standard OLAM from cingular.com. Or if i need something done to my account, i ask one of my co-workers to take care of it for me. i meant full control as in i can have it provisioned to my own personal needs (within current promotions and guidelines).

Speaking from the agent side of things...most reps I know keep a personal phone separate from their agent line. 3 reasons: 1. control (you're right, changing features, sims, etc. is a pain in the *** on an agent line); 2. for us, Family Talk is cheaper and has more features than agent lines; 3. and most importantly, you can KEEP your number when you leave the company.

Why not? I'm not a COR agent, just interested in why.

You can get a FAN account using your email at att.com on the cingular.com discounts page provided you wanted a 2 year contract . Of course you might consider that still tied to the company but at least you can get features changed like a normal customer.
