Need some help... I'm using MPT 4.0 with a usb cable to my e815. It worked yesterday. I got the firmware (s/w 05.05.03) on the phone update today. And I cannot get MPT working. When the picture of my phone comes up, it shows initializing, please wait... And my phones beeps every 5 seconds or so... I waited for about 10 minutes. Any ideas what I am doing wrong or forgot something?? Thanks!

Easiest thing to do .. is to power cycle your phone, plug the cable into the phone .. then plug into a direct usb port (make sure it's not through a hub).

Make sure the phone shows up in Device Manager as a motorola usb modem .. then start up MPT.

If it still doesn't stop "initializing" .. you wanna post back here .. and let us know if you're using the OEM Motorola cable .. or a different type.

Tried the power cycle on the phone, after unpluging it. I'm using the usb port on the laptop. The phone shows up using motorola usb modem. I upgraded the motorola usb drivers (2.6.2.0). I am using OEM motorola usb cable. I tried uninstalling & re-installing. Didn't help. Any more ideas I can try?? Thanks!!

Possible to try using a different USB port? Does your laptop come with more than one USB port?

The only thing I could tell you to try is to re-detect the phone after that .. anything else would need someone else to answer what else you could try.

I have two usb ports on my laptop. Same results. I decided to try to reinstall again. Uninstalled mpt, reboot. Install mpt. The live update came up and said there was an update for my old version. So, I let it update to version 4.04b. Also, I reinstalled the new motorola drivers. After all that, I'm able to connect my phone to mpt for now. I'm not too sure what fix the problem??? Easy way in the past has always been... create a new profile for your phone in MPT.
