Imate 8150

Hey Guys , I figured i start this new thread so we can get some people to help us out with inside info on when this beautiful device will be release

Specs on this thing look awesome and it may well be better the iphone

The specs on the 8150 seem too good to be true -- especially since the imate website says "specifications are subject to change".

Anyone know if the 2.6 inch VGA screens they are sourcing are new? Have there been devices with a screen like this before?

It seems like that size might be too small to even see all the pixels. The Axim VGA screen is 3.7 inches, which makes the Ultimate screen about 70% of the size.

i agree with u big time, we've already seen comparison pics that do not justify the dimensions

The sreen is the same (fisical) size as Nokia's N95.
It's not a large sreen but might just be suficient.
It's a very good phone. It might be my next phone.

It seems the screen is viable.
The images aren't of 8150 but of 5150, but the screen is the same in both models.

Not according to I-mate.

On their site they list the screen for the 5150 at 2.8 inches, screen for the 8150 2.6 inches.

People ,who saw it in Barzelona, said that only the 5150 was a working unit. The 8150 shown was only a demo case. Can they really pack all that in the size??? Comment from a working designer ??

It looks good, just I wonder about the wisdom of promoting something that is not technically possible. I am sure they will pull it off!

Did anyone see the brighthand imate leaked pdf today?

I am almost certain that the 8150 is the one code named "double" in it, with launch date listed as July.

It looks very different from the stock photo from the imate website: narrower, black keys, but layout is similar.
