help, phone lock on SK3

just got a sk3 from a tmobile provider (not directly from tmobile) and there's a phone lock on the phone, i tried calling tmobile but they said they weren't affiliated with taht company, i tried looking for the number of that store but nothing shows up, on the receipt is the # for their HQ. i'd go back but the store is a good 45mins - 1 hr away from me so i'm looking for a quick answer. is there anyway i can unlock it? it also seems like the phone is already been used since the message that appears when i try entering a number is a message put in probably by someone else.
