please some one in here tell me that when you set a picture ID to come up when you attach a pic to the caller id that the pic doesnt have to be the size of a pen cap!. I mean, for real, can anyone actually make out who is in that picture? does anyone know how to make the picture come up in its full form so you can actualy see who is calling.

This is how the phone is made. I had that gripe since I got my GD87 back in december!

i think lost posted something like the japanese version has a small colour lcd display on the exterior and that's what the picture caller id is really for and when making the gx8x they just kept the pic size small for the interior display

picture caller id on the main display is kinda useless on a folder-type phone, anyways

I have played around with the pictures in that data folder and it does not matter what size picture is stored there, it is scaled down for the picture ID. Yes the software was stripped from another phone model. I agree that it is useless except for some very simple pictures, like icons or the like.

The good news is that once you assigned a pic for your contact you can delete the original pic. This will save you a lot of non-expandable phone memory. The bad news is that if you alter the pic you will never see it again.

My really big question is;
Why would any responsible person put someone’s pic as part of his or her phone book contact in a phone? Can you imagine, it would be bad enough if your phone was lost or stolen and all your contact’s info is now in someone’s hand but now he can also ID everyone (via their picture) of your contacts as well!!!! Holy S---t, what a betrayal of “assumed trust” that would be!!! Now you have put people you know at risk.

Like I've always said, Panasonic did not put nearly enought thought into programming features in this phone. That's why I agree with Howard's PR correct review of this phone.

a responsible person wouldn't lose his phone you can't live your life based on what could happen or the what the worst possible scenario is; there's always risks... besides, i don't really think it's all that bad (sure it's a pretty crappy situation losing a phone, but it's not the end of the world)
