How do I install games on my V3xx

I know I'm a noob, but I need some help with installing games and apps. I've read several turorials on how to install games, but most of the software doesn't support the V3xx. I have the jar/jad files with java app loader enabled, but I don't know how to execute the files. How do I install them? I can only copy them to the kjava folder, via P2K Commander.

Download midway 2.8. Install it and find your .jad file. Figure out which Com port you are on using the Device manager. Go to the phone and run the Java App Loader. Plug in the USB cable again and download the file with midway.

how do you get the darn java app loader enabled on the phone? I've tried using the latest version of moto midlets manager and getting "unsupported platform". even tried adding the prefix to the ini file but not sure which "mode" is the correct one. any suggestions??? at a complete lst

Use UID extraction tool 2.2 to enable the app loader

Of course you need the 2.6.2 drivers installed as well.

Thanks for the help. I was using MIDway, but I just couldn't get it to work for some reason. I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I got it to work now.

For some reason though, the games that I had to make a jad file for fail when I try to run them. I get an error like application fail or something. I tried a game with a premade jad file and it worked perfectly. Do you know why this is?

And for phxbui, here is what you need to enable java app loader (what JimVR4 suggested):

I don't know why your jad file won't work. A guess is that it doesn't register properly on the phone. I do find midway to be sensitive as well - not sure why.

What other programs can I use to create a jad file? Right now I'm using JADMaker.

motomidman or MotoMidManager , i think its called.. thats a very good program for it , otherwise use P2KTools

I tried using MotoMidletManager and it works perfectly. My only question now is: How do I get all the games to play in full screen? Most of the games only play on part of the screen. Is there any way I can force them to play full screen?

Posted by: JimVR4

You should make sure the games are coded for 240x320. Yours are probably 176x220.

Yeah some games are specific screen sizes , and a good way to search this is on
http://www.gamemobile.co.uk/ , because u can search what games are specifically for your phone .. then u do the math lol!

Can anyone help with midway 2.8? I have the app loader enabled but getting a timeout every time i try to use the midway. I also have tried running the latest version of RSD (v3.4) (which recognizes the phone) running in the background but no luck. Is there a certain sequence of of steps i need to run for all this to work?

I had trouble with Midway 2.8 until I realized you have to go through the phone menus and select Java App loader. The phone responds with "insert cable now" Fiddling with the USB plug finally got midway to start working. Once you get midway going you have to go back and select "download" on the phone. You probably will get a prompt about having an unsigned application as well. Just OK it and you should be good.

by far the easiest way. There has been no need for the java app loader since the v3i.

If you don't have a memory card you still need some tools to do it. Midway worked before P2K Commander was able to write to the v3xx. Now that P2K Commander works ( > 4.9.2) you can load them directly to /a/mobile/kjava however I haven't checked if you can "install new" from that location.

Can you "install new" from that directory once you've copied the jar/jad (which one??) into the /a/mobile/kjava folder?

No luck with Midway. Found a bunch apps but have had no luck in installing any on the v3xx. I also tried Commander which is the only app that seems to communicate with the phone OK. But even copying directly into the kjava via Commander, none of the files show up on the phone. Is there a step I'm missing to install apps on the phone once the jar/jad file is copied there? Or is it that I need to get a card to install apps on?

What apps did you find? Anything that will rotate images taken by V3xx camera?

Just games...don't have anything that will rotate images. Sorry.
