V3, V3xx, or Sync for basic phone needs?

My wife is due for an upgrade and fortunately so since she dropped her current SE in a glass of Coke yesterday.....gone.
She does not need much in a phone, just clarity and good RF. She will not use the other features, except maybe the camera every now and then.
So should I get her a free V3(she likes the pink...imagine that), a red Sync or go with the V3xx? I know the new Razr is probably the better phone, just trying to figure out if it's worth the money for someone like her.

if she likes the pink and all she's gonna do is make phone calls, go with the v3

For basic needs id say the V3..

V3 sounds fine.

I would go with the sync, its free at most places. Basically its the best deal for that price not to mention its just a better phone.

V3 is the only one I'm finding free right now. All of my local shops require a media package sign up to even get the prices comparable to online, which as I stated she would have no use for. In fact, the only place I see the V3 free is Wal-Mart.

The V3 is sooooo old though. At least get the V3xx!

I have had all 3, and the v3xx is by far the best phone out of all of them. The sync is good too, but it has too many quirks that just drive me nuts.

Go for the v3xx. The v3 is just too old like Fido said.

Definitely go for the V3xx. There is no comparison.

I'd go with V3xx, not just because it's newer, but its superior RF strength and voice quality. Not to mention the excellent camera quality. I haven't seen a phone of this caliber in a long time. The voice is not just loud, but warm and clear. The menu system is much faster. Comparing it with V3 is like night and day. Afterall, it IS a completely new phone, just with same form factor as the old V3.

And if your wife doesn't like the metallic gray, they now have a gold color which seems to please the female crowd.

if you get a 3g phone you may notive that you have more reception in places. My friend lives in a 3g covered area on the map but it shows only moderate for non 3g. You have more options for service with 3g.

my opinion the v3xx.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was thinking that since she doesn't really need much in a phone, I'd go the cheap route for the V3. However, I just have seen too many good things about the V3xx that it just makes more sense. Especially considering it has better clarity and RF. Though neither of us have owned the V3, I've used a family members and was not impressed with the call quality. Being that the V3xx is only $50 after rebate, I think it's the way to go.
Sounds like the only problem she may have is me keeping it for myself!
