Thinking about switching back to cingular. few questions

i have a couple of general questions about the service and its change from 2 years ago (last time i had cingular)
now before you tell me to search, just let me tell you that i really suck at it and didnt get my questions answered 100%

1)do the phones still cause nearby speakers to make that god awful sound? if so, will it do it in 3g mode too?
2)is 3g call quality really that much clearer, or is it simply due to the fact that not too many people are converted to 3g?

as for phones. i'm looking at the v3xx and the w810
could anyone tell me as far as call quality and reception, which one is better?

i dont think i'll be using the fm radio on the ericson, but how would the sound quality compare between the two as far as music goes?
ive also heard the 1.3mp on the v3xx is very good, but will the 2.0 on the ericsson still best it?
how do they do with games? does the nvidia gpu really make the v3xx stand out?

and finally, are there any phones coming out for cingular that are worth waiting for? (i could care less for the iphone, though would be more interested in moto, sony, nokia lines)

thanks in advance!

i have the v3xx wife has the se 810i.

V3xx: fantastic 3g very clear calls stupid fast net
good rf
good camera
decent mp3 player
very very fast interface

810: NO 3g which sucks
better camera
better rf
fast net made faster with opera mini
i can't stop playing with it
fantastic mp3 player

my opinion that's all i also use my blackjack quite a bit had the se come with 3g that would've been my second phone

just to poitn out, you can get opera mini on the v3xx too. And i would say that while both phones are great, the v3xx is better. ALso, call quality is better in 3g mode because of better technology. Also, when in 3g mode, teh speakers don't buzz, but they still do in 2g mode. Games are good, graphics are excellent! on the v3xx. The nvidia graphics card makes the phone super fast, but more importantly, it'll take a picture instantly, no delay for the shtuter which is great. Go witht eh v3xx, i can promise you you won't regret it.

All I can say is, don't get the Samsung D807. It's got tons of cool features, but the speaker volume is terrible. If you like to use your phone in the car or in a restaurant, you won't be able to hear it.

Not worth the $49.

As of yet no love from SE in terms of a 3g phone with the US bands, but CeBIT is coming soon and who knows if SE will gives us some good news here in the states .

I had the 810, and now have the v3xx. The v3xx is a much better phone. Yes the SE interface is a little nicer, but everything about the v3xx is just better.

Not trying to start a flame war, but just my opinion. From someone who has had both phones.

Oh and to the poster above, the RF and the call quality is MUCH better on the v3xx. At least where I live.

i realy like the v3xx but no second camara what r the cance's they put it back for the video call feature???

If they took it out and it was an original feature of the phone, I would say a while if not at all. Don't base the purchase of the phone for yourself just because of the second camera. Even when they do launch that service, I am sure that it wont be up to par for a while anyway. By then you will probably want a new phone.

well, after skimming the t-mobile forum, i stumbled on the perfect deal (for me atleast)
if you call this number you can get the t-mob dash for 50 bucks after rebate with a 1 year contract!
oh, and free activation + shipping. mine will be here either monday or tues

maybe next year cingular will have a nice SE 3g phone

not to threadjack but while you guys are on the topic, can you guys tell me if you able to multitask with the V3xx? Like are you able to have multiple J2ME apps open, for example if I wanted to listen to music, be signed on to AIM on IM+, and be surfing google maps??
