i am playing with the caller Id alerts and im finding that with all the numbers on the sim i can only have 10 picture id alerts. (thats gay) so if i add in the names to the phones phone book i can have more but i dont wanna delete all my names and then enter them all again in the other address book.

you can edit them and then save them in the mobile phonebook but you will have to delete the entries from the sim manually, there is not a move function.

Just a couple of points about the phone book on the GD87

It is possible to save entries in the phone mem if they exist in the sim mem and vice versa. To do this select the entry and choose edit from the menu (you don't need to make any changes, unless you want to) then you'll be given the option of saving to the phone or the sim. You can have entries in both its just the amount of info you can save thats different.

To see the entries go to the main menu and from the phonebook option choose browse and by name you can then choose phone, sim or all. This then becomes the standard for phone book when you press the button on the main screen. If you choose all you'll see 2 entries if you've saved in the phine and the sim.

Celinpho that’s not the worst part!
Did you know that if you have the same number in your sim as you do in your mobile phonebook you would have wasted your time and effort with entering all that info into that over glorify mobile phonebook? When you receive a call your stupid phone will first look for a number match from your sim and then from your mobile phonebook. This will effectively bypass all those fancy stuff you have done in your mobile phonebook. Panasonic has no intention of correcting this “bug.” They don't see it as a fault. If you decide to store all your numbers on your phone and not on your sim then you have just defeated the usefulness of your sim card. Further, why did Panasonic bother with all those icons in their mobile phonebook and didn’t use them to display the needed additional information about your caller?

As for pictures for your contacts, do you really want to do that? I know it’s cool and it's a bragging right but did you think about its’ implications? Please read my comments on that topic in other threads in this forum and give me your comments.

Also, remember that your sim is also used for storing other info so if you plug it up with pictures you might run into other problems later. This is not a phone upgrade fix. It just how the sim card is used in your system.
