Blackjack Calendar bug? Phone thinks date is in future?

Has anyone else had a problem with the Blackjack forgeting what the correct date is?

My phone seems to jump ahead to the future at least once per week, sometimes is is 6 months, sometimes it is longer.

I notice, because all of a sudden I have tons of reminders (for future events) going off.

My time/date are pulled from Cingular network, but I also use Exchange ActiveSync with my work servers.

ActiveSync does not sync date only time AFAIK. I saw it once or twice, usually happens when you turn off the phone and turn it back on. Somehow it gets the date wrong from the tower nearby. But it can auto correct itself after a while or you can cycle it through flight mode to force it refresh.

which is a pain in the a. It starts showing all of my appointments as done. it takes about a full minute for the phone to stop compiling the dates and advising me. It sucks. anyway it does go back to normal after i dismiss all.

You can stop date/time auto-update and see if it solves your problem.

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8525: HTC-8500/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) UP.Link/6.3.1.17.0)

have you tried to reset your phone? you about about the time update microsoft released? could that help fix the problem?

How can any patch on the phone fix the problem that is on Cingular cell tower? If you're not on 3G most of the time, forget about turn the auto-update on. Most Cingular GSM towers don't have correct time zone settings.

I have been having the same problem with mine for about a month. I will try turning off the auto-update.

Has anyone else seen anything further on this?

There are about 5 of us in my office that have the Blackjack and we all see this at least once per week.

Will try turning off auto-update, but this kind of stinks, especially since I travel to other time zones often and prefer to have local time displayed.

Yes, I had the issue also. It seemed to happen when the BJ is "stressed". I.e. I saw it would happen any time I was using A2DP BT with my headset and ActiveSyncing at the same time. I also had Auto-Update on. Interestingly, it hasn't happened in a while though. I saw it the first few weeks and not since. I was going to return the phone. But it stopped happening. And come to think of it, it stopped happening around the time I turned off Auto-Update.

I turned it off for a completely different reason (I travel alot and DONT like my phone to update time, I like it to stay on my home time zone). That was about 2 months ago, and I don't recall the futrue time change happening since that same time frame. So, I wonder if that did fix it. It seems others think it did.

All that to say that, I would try that if you are still having the problem.

I have only had it happen one time since I turned off autoupdate. I might try turning it back on tonight. I almost wonder if it was DST related. What I noticed when it first started happening is that my date had jumped six months in the future.
