I just wanna know what is everyone's opinion about Cingulars PTT phones out. I am in need of a new phone pretty badly and me and a few friends MIGHT be interested in PTT. I am not a big Motorola fan (hate their phones and now hate their bluetooth headsets) but I do want one with a loud speaker phone and I hear the v365 might be the best.On ebay they are not that different in pricing, save for the PDA phones of course, but opinions on their current selection would be helpful.

Really? I have heard negative things about LG as a brand and i actually had that last in my preferences...even though i had an LG before (PREPAID AT THAT!) and had no problems with it. reception was clear, loud. right now i have the s710a so the z525a is my 1st choice...so far.

well my grandparents have the 407 and I like them. I think they are good phones

Initially got two Z525a's for the wife and myself w/new Cing contract. That was a few weeks ago. Currently, I have upgraded to a W810i (fantastic decision, since I don't care for PTT or just because, in general) and secondly, I totally disabled my wife's PTT button physically, because the damned thing was going off every time she touched the phone !

This was actually one of the primary reasons that I ditched mine as well. I managed to take the plastic button off, and cut the little nub off of the back of it, then placed it back, so that it wouldn't activate the PTT all the time. I took the phone back, after of course gluing the nub back on, which worked just fine, and was ultra sensitive again.

It's amazing to me that they released the phone in such a faulty state ! To be honest though, we weren't subscribed to the PTT service, so how this would affect the phone directly in that particular instance, is beyond me. I'm just throwing a warning out there for you.

Opinion about someone in a public environment using PTT? Very obnoxious!

I had that lame sprint walkie talkie service "ready link", never used it, they never integrated it w/ nextel...waste of money.

Cingulars PTT is nothing like Nextels if thats what youre thinking. Nextels PTT is very refined which is the reason more people relying on PTT services use them (like me at work). Latency is the big issue here... where Cingular, Sprint, and Verizon take up to 5 seconds to connect, Nextel takes under a second.

Honestly, dont waste your money solely on a Cingular phone with PTT... its not worth it yet. Maybe when they refine the network a bit more, but right now its junk.
