MS Office and Lotus Notes Integration

I'm just wondering about some features of the P800. Does it support viewing and creating/editing Office documents (that are attached in emails) such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint out of the box (as in software is included with it) or does it require some third party software purchase. For Lotus Notes, can the P800 access email, calendar and contact information from a Domino server via GPRS/WAP out of the box (included software), or is a 3rd party application required? Thanks, and I would really appreciate some quick replies.

You will require a third party application for MS Office doc's such as word and excel. Check mysymbian.com and see what they have. As for LotusNotes I have had no experience with. Hopefully someone can answer that question.

Really? Cause on SEMC's site, it says that it can view emails with Word, Excel and PPT attachments...

I just emailed myself a WORD doc. I received it as an MMS with two attachments. The first attachment was, in fact, the exact WORD doc i sent, viewable, not editable. The second attachment was just a message that said the attachment was dropped (like an error message) but as i indicated above, the attachment came thru fine. I'm using T-Mobile

Thanks for the assistance BVH, I appreciate you doing that. Now to only find out if the P800 can deal with Lotus Notes info via SyncML.

Out of the box.. the answer is no.

And I haven't even found a way to do it without Server side software.

I'm currently running an agent that forwards email to a pop3 account that the p800 checks via GPRS every hour but that means all the email has me as the sender (since it's forwarded) and no subject. I'm trying to find an application that will redirect instead of forward which would at least give me the original sender and subject.

Another note is that the synching software that ships does work with Lotus Notes but no categories are mapped over to the p800 which is really a deal-breaker since I rely heavily on my categories in the task list.

So, does that mean the P800 can't access Lotus Notes via a POP3 server out of the box?
