Windows on the Razr?!?!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi there everyone. I am probably showing my ignorance for even asking this question but has anyone heard of anyone being able to download/install/flash Windows Mobile (either 2003 or WM5) on any version of the Motorola Razr?!?!

It seems to me that it *should* technically be possible. Or not?!?! The Razr with WM5 would be the coolest phone ever (well almost as cool as the Cingular 3125)

I don't think so... I strongly doubt the RAZR has an ARM processor or any other that is supported by WM5

Nope, the hardware needed to run any wm device is a bit different. The 3125 is about as close as your are going to get for now.

Impossible.
1 - lack of supported CPU
2 - even if ported to the RAZR's processor, it has no processing power at all to run anything more complicated than a java app...
3 - no RAM
4 - lack of Windows Mobile KEYS (MS requirement) which evem Motorola could not resolve (unless MS would rewrite part of its OS to work without these keys, without touchscreen and without keyboard... hmm, no, impossible)
5 - proprietary hardware (but it could be solved with writing their support for WinCE by Motorola)
6 - battery; with current battery (what is it? ~650mAh I guess) it wouldn't even last half a day even with the slowest and least-power consuming CPU on the market (Texas Instruments OMAP 200 MHz). Solving it with any bigger battery would make your RAZR look like a fat FreakZOR or a usual pocketpc
and
probably 100 of other more/less important reasons why RAZR cannot have Windows Mobile...

PS
What you CAN DO is install customized Windows Mobile startup/shutdown screens, wallpapers, sounds etc (like I did on Moto V-300 once upon a time lol) and fool less-knowleadgable people that you do have Windows Mobile on RAZR
