Side buttons

More time than not when I open my phone (in that cool one handed motion..) one of the side buttons gets hit. No so much a problem unless it's the camera. Can someone tell me how to reassign the camera button, make it a double click or turn it off completely?

what is your mobile model.
with my pantech pg3600 it is impossible to reassign any botton !!!
