I was able to succesfully teather my 8525 to my laptop with a USB cable.
I followed the instructions that came with the 8525

The most important detail in the whole tethering process is to make sure the "modem link" program is running on the 8525.

I can get it to work perfectly via USB, but could not get it work via bluetooth no matter how hard I tried.

I think I snagged this from a cingular forum somewhere. I cant remember where.

A couple of notes on this.

The device CANNOT be in standby or it won’t establish the connection.

If you’re using the phone, it won’t connect to the internet.

The connection is touchy. If it fails, try again. Sometimes it takes several attempts.

Setting up the connection

1. On the PC, double click on the My Bluetooth Places icon from the desktop.
