Razr v3 syncing issues with Mobile Tools

Ok, picked up the V3 from Cingular, great price.

Downloaded Mobile Tools, 3.11 I believe.

I had a camera cable that fit the phone (I assume this isn't a problem).

Set up the software, said to connect via USB. The computer (running XP) recognizes the phone, etc, no other issues I believe during the install.

But when I run Mobile tools, all I get is the 'initializing' and it never sees what is on the phone. It knows it is there, if I click around the program, it will trigger the phone.

What set am I missing?

The overwhelming responses here is amazing.

I did a search, I did not find anything irrelevent. (tried installing drivers that I downloaded also).

I am assuming I am the only one that has a razr, windows XP, and had trouble connecting to Mobiletools?

try using the liveupdate, MPT wouldn't see my V3xx until I upgraded to 4.36c

Yup, that was it. Thanks for your suggestion.

I wish I had those three hours from last night back.
