Removing the 8525 Face Plate

Hey All !!

I unfortunately dropped my device 2 days after I got it and acquired some nasty scratches on the face plate. I was able to acquire a parts phone for next to nothing but need to know how to get it off without breaking it.

There appears to be 4 screws on the reverse side of which 2 you can get to and the others you can't.

Any help would be appreciated !

Thanks

Dave

There's probably screws under/around the battery. I just peeked at mine (TyTN), and I notice a small white sticker with the word "VOID" on it under the battry cover. I bet there's a screw under this sticker. However, opening up your 8525 will void your warranty.

you have to work from back to front. Once you have the back of the phone detached there will be four screws that need to come off . I used a sim card sleeve to run along the backside of the face plate to detach the housing. As far as the void sticker. I managed to exacto mine off without breaking it

Thanks for the replies! I will have to look it over and choose my battles I guess. The scratches are just so much of an eye sore
