8125 Died - any way to get it back?

I spent a couple hours yesterday tweaking my 8125 - themes, utilities (Wisbar Advanced, Pocket Breeze, iLauncher, etc), things like that. When I reset it the desktop came up but I couldn't control anything, it was locked up bad. Even hitting the Talk button did nothing. So I turned it off and when I turned it back on it just did a soft reset. That happened about five times and finally I left it alone. This morning I tried starting it again but it wouldn't boot up at all. I thought maybe the power had run itself out, so I plugged it in and even the charge light wouldn't come on. I plugged it into my computer and ActiveSync looked like it had seen it, but then it disconnected. Now I can't get it to start up at all. I've got it pugged into the charger, but the charge light still isn't on. I tried removing the battery and putting it back in, removing the SIM, and even doing a hard reset using the instructions in the manual and a few posts I found here and nothing happens. No black screen with instructions, just NOTHING.

Am I out of luck? It's a company-issued phone, so if it's dead I can turn it in and get another, but I'd like to try to get it restored if at all possible... If anyone has any ideas I can try to get this thing working again, I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks for your help,

Eddie

sounds like the battery might be dead. one of the problems with the 8125 and others is that in order for it to charge, the mini usb port needs to be active, but is only active if the phone is on. you could try finding a charging unit to pop the battery in and see if that fixes it.

Does anyone know if 8125 can be powered on via AC Adapter, without battery installed? I am not able to power on anymore with the said condition and would like to know if it is the battery or 8125. Thank you.

I helped a friend with the same circumstance. Remove the battery, plug in the AC power adapter, and then put the battery back in and let it charge. It should come on after that.

What you should do is a hard reset (using combinations of buttons when power up. Do a search) when your phone has power. It will reset everything back to default.

Update: Tried the wall charger but the LED on the 8125 is still off. The battery contacts at each end on the 8125 measures about 1.5V. Does this mean the battery is totally dead?

If you plug it into the wall charger without the battery and don't get a red light, it's likely there is something else wrong. The battery is probably REALLY dead at 1.5v.
