Buying HTC 4350 in Toronto area

I'm looking for some tips on buying HTC in the Toronto area. I'm a Bell customer switching next week. I liked the TyTn, but it seems that the 4350 is a bit smaller and new technology. I LOVE the 620, but I want the big screen and keyboard.

Anyway, I heard Rogers is getting the TyTn and 620, but I'm really looking for the 4350. I know there is a store on highway 7 and Woodbine, and one on Bay (Softpocket I think) and there are a number of dealers in the Asian malls like Pacific Mall. I'm looking to make sure I can get support for repairs, ROM upgrades, availability and of course, price. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Harry

Well, basically you will get no support of any kind.
HTC does not have offices in Canada and the re-sellers will most likely will tell you to take it to the manufacturer. That means that you have to ship your product over their offices in the States if you have any issues.

Also, my experience is that if you buy a phone in Canada by resellers, particularly something that is not supported by any major carrier will rob you blind.

If you want some ROM upgrades and things like that you will have to wait until Rogers starts carrying the product. Then you will have access to *SOME* support, unless they have a return policy. Which by the way, if Rogers does get it, but your unit(s) from FutureShop since they will in fact just replace the unit if it is faulty.

One last thing, you do not need to be a tech-head to your own ROM updates. For example, I am running WM6 on my TyTN and it took less than 4 minutes to do.

Ultimately, that is the price you pay if you want a phone not carried by the major providers. If you want to buy from Toronto than just shop around.
