OK. I purchased a V3xx phone earlier in the week from an online retailer. I received it in and came to realize it was a phone not put out by Cingular and it was the 900/1800/1900 version. Which is the one I did not want. Since then I have returned the phone for a refund. NOW...I purchase on on ebay that the seller told me was put out through Cingular and was the 850/1800/1900 band I believe. Check it out: PHONE

Let me know if I will be good to go now with this phone.

The reason I have to buy it on there is because when I go to Cingular.com I cannot just purchase a phone without upgrading or signing a new contract.

Please let me know I am going to receive a phone that will work most places in the US and that the 3G will work anywhere 3G is available.

Thanks

You can buy the phone from Cingular or a Cingular store without renewing your contract or paying the upgrade fee. You just have to pay the unsubsidized price.

just go in to a retail store and tell them you want to buy the phone. they will sell it to you at the reatail price and you will be good to go.

OTOH, if you have access to a Sam's Club, you can buy the phone for about $239.00 plus tax with no contract - they usually don't even ask for your wireless number. Or, Wal-Mart has the phone for about $10.00 more. The phones are genuine Cingular product - just insert your SIM and you're on the network.

However, I'm not sure how well the V3xx will work if you don't have a 3G SIM...
