HTC Dash - Pocket IE help - won't load website that was down but is now back up

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping you all can help me.

There's an internet forum I browse over my Dash. Several days ago it went down for maintenance and moved servers, and a "we are down for maintenance" page was put in its place. The forum is now back up and running and I can access it fine from my home and work PCs.

The problem is, the Dash cannot access. No matter how I try to get there, it just gives me the "we are down for maintenance screen" that is actually no longer in place on the site itself, or screws up in some way.

I have tried:

* Clearing the cache, cookies, and history

* rebooting the phone multiple times

* sending myself a link to an active thread through my gmail (java app) and work email (dash native email program) and it doesn't work through my work email, and through the gmail it brings me a google-edited non-html version of the page, but the gmail headers and footers are there and i basically can't log in or anything

* googling the forum and going in through a link from google to the homepage, instead of through my PIE bookmark

* switching from 2.5G edge data service to my home wifi - I was able to get to the main forum page, but trying to log in or entering a thread just gives me the "we are down for maintenance" thing that as I wrote before, is no longer on the site itself.

I am thinking that the forum's server move is the problem, but because it didn't work with my wi-fi either, I'm not sure I can blame it on "Oh, the T-mobile DNS servers haven't propagated yet!" or something. Please help if you have any ideas!

Thanks a lot.

First thing I would suggest is that you download Opera Mini (free) and try to get to it.
That way you will figure out exactly where the problems is.
Since it could technically be server and it is only because it recognizes that you are using PIE and re-directs you to another site. In this case the error site.

If it does work then that means that you have to try digging deeper into the phone and PIE's setting and perhaps delete the folders manually. Which I could sort of help.

Try Opera first.

Hmm.. i tried opera mini and it didn't quite work for some reason, and i decided against using it. maybe i will try again.

a friend suggested manually changing the dns server settings on the phone - is this even possible? I really don't know.

DNS server settings? Uh, why?
You said your internet works for other sites, right?

And also, if you could not log on with Opera than at the very least if you want some help you have to tell people what kind of error you got. "Didn't quite work for some reason," is outright vague.
