So, my 8525 fell about 100 feet onto a pile of rocks...

A few friends and I were walking across this LOOOOOOONG train bridge on Friday night.

It bridges a huge gap between these cliffs over the Colorado River.

Anyway, we had a few beers and were walking from one side to the other. I was using the flash light on my 8525 to light the bridge so we wouldn't trip over any of the cracks.

I ended up tripping anyway, and dropped my 8525. It landed half on the tracks and half over the crack. It teetered for about 2 seconds, and right before I grabbed it, it fell.

...

We trekked back, and after like 30 minutes of searching, I found it. The device LOOKED OK. The back cover and the battery were out and off, but I found them, and put it back together. The slider was fine, and nothing was too scratched.

So, I turn it on, but only to see that the screen had been COMPLETELY demolished.

I've had this thing since before Christmas, so I guess I'm screwed.

doesn't matter when you got it warranty wouldn't have replaced it anyway. You can sell for parts or buy a new screen if you are feeling brave.

I'm just going to pick up a new one tomorrow.

My friend's brother in law is a manager at one of the Cingular stores and is going to get me a discount.

Good enough for me.

You should still sell it on eBay, you would get a good amount for a broken phone.

If its just the screen, aren't those replaceable for around $135-$150?
