I am looking to buy a replacement lcd from ebay to replace mine after i busted my 8125. Does anyone know, if i need the lcd with the black or gold flex cable? Also if anyone has ever replaced their screen, is it difficult? Thanks.

I did it to the 8525 but I think they are the same screens.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the black or gold flex but this is the one I bought. Took a while to get here.

I installed it and it works perfect. It wasn't hard at all but just be careful not to loose screws and just go slow so you don't bend things wrong. I also used this to help me if it helps you.

The only thing I wasn't sure about and left out was the rubber at the end and I haven't had any problems but I just did it a few days ago. Let me know if I can help.

Oh yeah, I'm sure you realize this is going to void your warranty if you still have it as you have to remove the void sticker to get to a screw. Otherwise you'll have to pay ~$170 to have HTC do it.
