Talked to Nokia service today for about 45 min. on the phone with them. This was a follow-up to an earlier email I had sent. Results of the conversation were: My problem was getting pc suite to recognize my 9300 after I updated the f/w to 6.27v. First off right from the start I was told that this was not an authorized firmware and was in fact a generic version. That said, the tech on the phone tried to get it to work(I give him points for trying for 45 min.) He had me checking and changing, downloading drivers, tweeking my pc settings and nothing worked. Finally he comes back on the line and tells me that my pc (my work computer) is not compatible. I say "I have no problem syncing my E70 to this very pc all the time. He says "it is hit and miss with the 9300 as far as being able to sync" I say " well using that logic , I should have hit once at least since I have been trying for so many times". He had no explaination for the E70 working everytime. "hit or miss" "hit or miss". Bottom line according to him was my work pc is not compatible with syncing at all due to some admin. block thing that must be adjusted out of it. Still wondering why the e70 syncs fine(I work for a very large co.) I asked him when the E90 was coming out and that it was on the web site already. He said "It`s not on the web site and when it is, it usually takes 3 to 4 months for it to hit the market after popping up on the web site..(Saw it on the web site earlier) . I thanked him for his time and hung up. I`m done trying . I think I`ll just continue using my E70. I think he is maybe right about one thing. It is a generic firmware. Might check with iunlock, since they did the upgrade for me. I would say to anyone contemplating doing the upgrade that it has it`s pluses , but this is one of the minuses..BEWARE: BBC doesn`t re-install either....(another minus)..............."it is what it is"

thanks for the update. Blaming the computer is a cop out. I know as I work in tech help .

Does the phone show up at all on the computer (like does it recognize that at least SOMETHING is plugged in)? I would contact iunlock and see if they could help you out a bit. I hear they are really friendly, and if they can't get the phone to recognize after doing the flash, then they have obviously impaired the functionality of the phone with their service and should help to resolve the issue.

The question is what will you do if they are able to get it working with PC sync there?

Yes, it even says 9300 is connected via usb. However, the selection box shows it to be greyed out and hence unselectable. I should mention that I never tried to connect the phone before the upgrade so don't know if it ever worked. This is a great device but I will go for the e90 when released. So it's not that big a deal. I think s60 is where my phone future lies. Love my e70 except for the too small screen.

I just can't pay e90 money especially as tmobile will offer a phone less than half it's price that gets faster data connection than the e90 (as soon as their 3G is up and running). I don't think the price will drop that much as Nokia states its MSRP is $1K USD, this isn't market speculation

Yeah, I hear that. 1000 clams is really out there. But then I think what I paid for the 8801 ($650) which was nothing but bling and not much function. The e90 will have tons of functional stuff I`m interested in. Yeah, of course 3g would be nice, but I just don`t think 3g will roll out in enough places at once to cover a lot of real estate. From what I`ve been hearing the rumors (and rumors they are) are saying 2008 before the initial roll out of 3g in about 10 major cities. When ever it comes out I`ll probably pickup the next device if I`m ready. I just don`t like tmo controlling when I get my next phone. So I`m gonna go with a new device when I`m ready and not when tmo`s ready. That said, as much as I like my 9300 , if it only had my e70 browser on it I`d be happy for a long time.
