V3xx vs. CU500 in terms of rf, both U.S. AND internationally: anyone with insight?

please help me decide if you have experiences both here at home and in other countries regarding rf on these two phones.
I have read reams of threads heralding the Moto; but no global feedback.
Lots of Moto fans here, is the LG really weaker?

(given the LG is quad band and the Moto only tri !)

thanks!

I have both phones, the V3xx and CU500. I mostly carry the V3xx. My CU500 drops calls. When This happens I immediatly look at the screen and I always see all the bars gone, then they pop right back up.

I still have the CU500, I guess I'll keep it and make it my "travel phone" (Quad Band) for whenever I leave the country.

Overseas you might be fine with 1800 in big cities, but depending where you go 900 is sometimes neccessary. Middle East and China heavily use 900. Big Euro Cities will work fine with just 1800, but having 900 will help.

Check out this link. It is pretty accurate at telling you what bands you need in each country and the carriers in each country.

V3xx is a RF life saver in my book. Blows CU500 and my Blackjack out of the water in RF!

I'll agree , i had a cu500 that i go from xbm to replace my original type RAZR and it would not pick up inside buildings or in fringe areas like the razr did . The v3xx seems to be as good or better than anything i have used with Cingular. Overseas i would not have a clue but i would say get a v3i or v3r quad band.

I can only vouch for the CU500 (I don't have a v3xx...yet) and say that RF is absolutely HORRIBLE. I will go from 4 or 5 bars down to 0, thus dropping the call, without even walking around or driving. And once the call is dropped, it goes back up to 5 bars. This problem, combined with the lack of phone personalization and other miscellaneous bugs makes for a sub-par phone.

i have both phones the v3xx wins hands down i am in a no singal area and i am getting 4 bars with the moto while the cu500 only get 2 to 3 sometimes while the moto getting 4 all the time. plus for the first time i actually got a 3g singal at my house for about 5 mins that never happened on the cu500.
